The Nabha Phulkari Project

The Nabha Phulkari Project is forward-looking initiative aimed at empowering female artisans in Nabha. This endeavour supports self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship by revitalizing the age-old Phulkari craft and teaching essential financial and business management principles to local artisans.

The ultimate aspiration of this project is to safeguard the art of Phulkari while elevating the economic prospects and social status of the women in Nabha. Members of the cooperative were taught how to develop a sustainable operation for a specifically artisan-led enterprise. This led to increased income and improved social security for members.
