Padma Project
“Padma”: An Interactive Art Installation at the Pyramids of Giza
In 2024, the Faizal & Shabana Foundation, in partnership with cultural initiative QissaGoi, proudly supported Shilo Shiv Suleman, a contemporary artist known for her work in magical realism and interactive technologies, in the creation of “Padma“ – a landmark installation for the Forever is Now.04 festival held at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Pyramids of Giza.
Padma is a sensory art installation that uses biofeedback technology to visualise the heartbeats of participants through light. The installation invites viewers to connect more deeply with themselves and each other, turning invisible rhythms into visual poetry through light, form, and collective presence.
Shilo Suleman is the first Indian artist to exhibit her artwork at the 4500-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Pyramids of Giza, as part of the highly anticipated Forever Is Now 2024 contemporary art exhibition. Art D’Égypte, the fourth edition of the annual festival was conducted from 24 October to 16 November 2024, drawing artists from around the globe to explore the intersection of ancient civilizations and contemporary artistic practices.
