SEPT

SEPT is a voluntary organization that identifies and cultivates footballing talent among underprivileged and marginalized youth of rural, suburban, coastal and tribal belts of Kerala. The goal being to give the youth opportunities in professional leagues.

The Foundation initially donated funds to SEPT and organized a Dubai-based tournament, but has expanded its intervention to a holistic strategy that includes providing participants with a stable environment, balanced nutrition, clothing, shelter and quality education – along with enhancing their football skills.

Established in 2004 by a small group of football enthusiasts, SEPT currently runs 52 football academies staffed by over 100 coaches training almost 2000 children, 8 to 14 years of age. The children are exposed to a range of competitive environments from regional and national to international, having performed well in Asian and European tournaments.

Collaborating with footballing bodies across the world has opened up access to coaching expertise from The Netherlands, Brazil, Germany and Malaysia. SEPT coaching staff benefit from learning the latest training techniques and international footballing standards.

SEPT graduates now play in the national premier league, the Indian Super League (ISL), representing clubs like Kerala Blasters, with some playing for other premier league and state teams.
