Uganda School Project – Hope Project
The main objective of the Hope project is to develop a strong teaching workforce that equips every child with the ability to realize their full potential over the long term.
The curriculum includes practical instruction in critical thinking and problem-solving, as well as the facilitation of
employment and income opportunities. The successful Nadakkavu Model will be rolled out across Uganda and Kenya.
Facts & Figures
- The project encompasses over 3800 students and 220 teachers, across six schools that serve more than
60 communities. - Training includes IT, among other vocational subjects.
- 72% increase of staff able to use Microsoft Word to effectively perform duties such as lesson plans, schemes of work and reports.
- 56% of students exhibit at least one local business skill.
- 45% of students exhibit at least one skill with both domestic and business applications.
- 16% of students have started earning income from skills acquired.
- The project has been rolled out in three government schools including Mbazzi Riverside Primary School, Mbazzi Riverside High School and Katuuso Primary School.
