Dream School Project – Kashmir

The DREAM School Project at GGHSS, Kothi Bagh, Srinagar, serves as a model for public school education in Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative was launched through a close partnership between the Faizal and Shabana Foundation and the Directorate of School Education Kashmir. To date, 35 staff members from Kothi Bagh School and 19 from the Kashmir division have undergone training as part of this intervention.

The Faizal and Shabana Foundation has established two project offices, one within the Directorate and the other at Kothi Bagh School. These offices facilitate seamless administrative and academic collaboration while the Directorate-based office acts primarily as a government liaison and the Kothi Bagh School office coordinates with school faculty to facilitate implementation of educational interventions.

With mission-driven objectives, including addressing educational gaps and fostering holistic student development, this project epitomizes excellence in public school education.

Key Outcomes in 2023
Partnership and Collaboration: The collaboration between the Faizal and Shabana Foundation and the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, produced the DREAM School Project which implemented various educational interventions and training programs.

Training and Capacity Building: A total of 55 teachers between Kothi Bagh S chool and the Kashmir division were given essential training to enhance academic skills, capacity, delivery and outcomes.

Holistic Educational Approach: The intellectual, emotional and artistic capacities of students were cultivated in parallel with infrastructure transformation, identifying educational gaps and facilitating community engagement.

Transformative Workshops: Theme-Centric Intervention (TCI) workshops led to paradigm shifts in teaching methodologies and relationship building and also fostered personal growth amongst participants.

Art Workshops and Mentoring Initiative: Teachers were empowered with mentoring workshops and students with art workshops in pursuit of our commitment to creativity, continuous learning and professional development within a comprehensive educational ecosystem.
